Lucy Chen and Susan Chu Bring AI That Thinks Like You to the Chief NYC Clubhouse
NEW YORK, NY — October 8, 2026 — Executive coaches Lucy Chen and Susan Chu co-hosted AI That Thinks Like You: Building Tools Around Your Expertise at the Chief NYC Clubhouse, a hands-on session for women leaders on turning their professional know-how into custom AI tools. The workshop first ran at the Chief San Francisco Clubhouse in July.
Chen opened by asking who in the room considered themselves an AI builder. Only a couple of hands went up, in a room of leaders with decades of experience in risk, law, talent, design, journalism, and technology.
Chen then demonstrated how she turned her coaching and writing process into AI agents. Her agents don't rush to answer. They ask round after round of questions first, the way she would with a client. During one demo, an agent got an attendee to commit to writing a book. Chu demonstrated Clara, the coaching AI she built around her executive coaching frameworks.
"We are the coaches. We teach the AI," Chen said. "It adopts our philosophy, our frameworks, our way of seeing a problem. But it doesn't replace the conversation a client needs when things get hard. That's still ours."
The discussion ran well past the demos, into trust, privacy, and where to begin. Chen's advice was simple. Pick one framework you use all the time with clients or your team, and make that your first build.
