Lucy Chen Speaks at Fremont Tech Week on AI, Identity, and the Future of Fraud

FREMONT, CA — April 29, 2026 — At this year’s Fremont Tech Week, executive coach, fintech leader, and author Lucy Chen delivered a featured workshop titled “The New Face of Fraud: Identity, AI & the Next Generation of Threats,” bringing together founders, technologists, business leaders, and innovators for a timely conversation on the rapidly evolving intersection of artificial intelligence, trust, and cybersecurity.

Hosted as part of Fremont’s first-of-its-kind annual civic tech event—officially recognized with a proclamation from Mayor Raj Salwan—the session explored how AI is fundamentally transforming the landscape of fraud, identity verification, and organizational risk. Drawing from her background in fintech, leadership, and fraud prevention, Chen challenged audiences to rethink traditional assumptions around security and trust in an AI-driven world.“The biggest risk isn’t just smarter fraud,” Chen shared during the workshop. “It’s leaders making decisions with yesterday’s assumptions.”

The session examined:

● Why fraud is evolving faster than many organizations can respond

● How AI is reshaping identity, trust, and digital risk

● The growing threat of deepfakes, synthetic identities, and AI-generated fraud at scale

● What leaders and organizations must do differently to stay ahead

Attendees included entrepreneurs, executives, technologists, and community leaders navigating the opportunities and risks emerging from rapid AI adoption. The event was organized by Innovate Bay, with support from San Francisco Bay University and Gifted Books. Chen also expressed appreciation to event organizers Rohan Brown and Christine Castro for their invitation and leadership in bringing the event to Fremont.

As AI capabilities continue to accelerate, Chen emphasized that conversations around identity, trust, and ethical leadership are no longer optional—they are essential.
